Starting Your Own Business

I just had a friend ask me about how to get started in setting up her own business. If you are looking to start your own business, that's very good for you. There are some things I want you to ask yourself first.

1. Do you know what your gifts are? What is it that you like to do and are good at doing?

2. Are you familiiar with the startup laws in your area?

3. Have you establish life goals that you want to accomplish? Do you have a business plan?

These are just some of the questions I asked before going into business for myself.
I run my own businesses out of my home. It allows me the flexibility I need to achieve my goals. I am my own boss and can set my own hours. I can control the amount of income I earn, whether it is a little or alot.

The type of businesses I run are retail and direct marketing. This is not for everybody, so that it is why the first question is highly important.

I want you to reflect on that question primarily. Being your own boss not only gives you freedom to earn as much as you want or set your own hours. It allows you to work in a position where you do something that you were gifted to do; the things you love to do.

I have posted some resources that I feel can assist you in getting started.

Small Business Administration

Internal Revenue Service for Businesses

I hope that I was able to assist you. If you have any more questions about this, please do not hesitate to ask.
Your comments are welcome.
